    Position Title: Military Training and Exercise Planner
    Reports to: Operations Manager
    Location: Lansing, MI
    Employment Status: Full-Time

    FLSA Status: Exempt

    Position Summary: The Military Training and Exercise Planner is responsible for facilitating and integrating joint readiness training objectives for the Michigan National Guard's Exercise Northern Strike. This role involves collaborating closely with the Exercise Northern Strike leadership team and the S2/3 OIC to ensure the success of exercise objectives. The ideal candidate will have experience at the brigade command and staff-level in a joint environment and participation in national-level exercises. Travel is required throughout the year for coordination meetings and on-site presence during exercise execution.

    Key responsibilities include:

    • Attend and contribute to planning and execution events.
    • Coordinate with various units and planning teams.
    • Deliver comprehensive after-action reviews and whitepapers.

    This position is contingent upon contract award.

    DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:

    • Develop relationships and products for joint readiness training.
    • Collaborate with Exercise Northern Strike leadership and S2/3 OIC.
    • Act as the Subject Matter Expert on exercise integration.
    • Coordinate exercise requirements at Joint Exercise Lifecycle Conferences.
    • Participate in exercise execution and control operations.
    • Produce after-action reviews and whitepapers.
    • Perform all other assigned duties.

    Requirements:

    • A National Agency Check with Inquiries (NACI) and SECRET clearance required.
    • Qualifications:
    • Military experience within five years at a battalion level or higher.
    • Brigade command and staff-level experience in a joint environment.
    • Experience with national-level exercises.
    • Strong written communication skills.
    • Experience in similar roles within the DoD or related organizations.
    • Advanced knowledge of joint readiness training.
    • Ability to travel frequently and work on-site during exercise execution.
    • Valid driver's license.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products and online systems.
    • Excellent attention to detail and data entry skills.
    • Customer-focused and team-oriented.
