    GEICO Technology Solutions - Senior Java Engineer

    If you have a passion for developing high-performance applications and platforms for Insurtech, this is an excellent opportunity to join our Claims Technology team and be a key player in shaping the future applications. As a Senior Java Engineer, you will play a crucial role in designing and building scalable, resilient distributed systems, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and mentoring other engineers to reach their full potential.

    What you will be doing:

    • Scope, design, and build scalable, resilient distributed systems.
    • Build product definition and guide towards the best solutions.
    • Engage in cross-functional collaboration throughout the software lifecycle.
    • Lead design sessions and conduct code reviews to maintain high engineering standards.
    • Create and support reusable application components and patterns from both business and technology perspectives.
    • Mentor other team members to help them grow professionally.
    • Share best practices and enhance processes within and across teams consistently.

    What you will need:

    • Advanced programming skills in modern languages such as Java, .Net, C++, Python, or C#.
    • Understanding of micro-services oriented architecture and extensible REST APIs.
    • Experience in building architecture, design, reliability, and scaling of systems.
    • Knowledge of DevOps Concepts, Cloud Architecture, and Azure tools.
    • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to excel in a fast-paced environment.
    • Experience with Agile methodologies, continuous delivery, and infrastructure as code.
    • Deep understanding of CS data structures and algorithms.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

    Qualifications:

    • 4+ years of professional software development experience.
    • 3+ years of experience in architecture and design.
    • 3+ years of experience with cloud services like AWS, GCP, or Azure.
    • 2+ years of experience with open-source frameworks.
    • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent.
