    Job Details:

    Job Summary:

    The Nuclear Medicine Technologist is responsible for applying radio nuclides to specific body areas to help physicians in disease detection, diagnosis, and treatment. The role includes patient positioning, nuclear equipment maintenance, and keeping radiographic records. Also involves related tasks as needed.

    Responsibilities:

    • Guides and prepares patients for radio nuclide application, and IV insertions;
    • Adjusts nuclear equipment for each exam as per physician's instructions;
    • Manages emergencies and reviews nuclear medicine processing;
    • Maintains procedure records and files, troubleshooting equipment;
    • Ensures proper equipment functioning continuously; Procures supplies;
    • Collaborates with referring physicians, offers technical training;
    • Builds effective relationships with medical staff for patient care; May assist in procedure enhancements;
    • Participates in Nuclear Medicine Technology education programs; Uses automated systems for tasks; Carries out assigned duties.

    Qualifications/Requirements:

    Experience:

    Solid knowledge of modern nuclear medicine procedures, equipment operation, human anatomy, safety precautions, and equipment maintenance. Ability to follow complex instructions, lead and instruct others, handle patients appropriately, use various computer applications, and communicate effectively in English. Also, attention to detail, reliability, good judgment, and physical fitness.

    Education:

    Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology Program, Certified in Nuclear Technology.

    Licenses / Certifications:

    Required certification and current registration with either the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) or the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist.
