    Description

    The Diagnostic Assessor provides Diagnostic Assessments, Behavioral Health Treatment Initial Assessments, and second opinions assessment to the CCS clients, utilizing diagnostic tools, intelligence measure, adaptive functioning measure, and neuropsychological measures, in a manner that is consistent with clinical best practices for CCS.

    The Diagnostic Assessor is integral in all aspects of diagnostic assessment including preparing, administering, establishing DSM-5 diagnosis, writing summary and full diagnostic report to include in the client's medical record.

    As needed, the Assessor provides BHT Initial Assessments at the CCS offices and provides report review and consultation in collaboration with our Clinical Case Management department.


    ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

    In collaboration with their direct Supervisor:

    • Plan, organize, complete, and submit diagnostic assessments within established timeline.
    • Ensure the quality of diagnostic assessments.
    • Communicate with client families about diagnostic results.
    • Communicate with funder/partners regarding results of diagnostic assessments.
    • Complete Behavioral Health Treatment Initial Assessments, which are conducted post diagnosis, to ensure the patient is directed to the most appropriate clinical treatment.
    • Provide clinical report review and oversight.
    • Offer consultation/training to the CCS providers as needed.
    • Conduct clinical training for clinical case managers on report reviews for CCS staff and CCS providers.
    • Support the care coordinator team with training.
    • Part of the senior clinical team: does clinical consultations and is available to clinical case managers and care coordinators to address issues around treatment plan quality and appropriateness; part of the network management team for management of clinical CCS teams.
    • Any other duties assigned by supervisor.

    Administration:

    • Enforce CCS policies and procedures to ensure compliance with the local, state, and federal regulatory agency rules.
    • Ensure programmatic compliance with appropriate standards of accreditation and funding agencies.
    • Travel to conduct assessments as needed.
    • Complete diagnostic assessment reports for funder submission within provided time frame.

    Clinical Responsibilities:

    • Utilize assessment templates and conducts assessments.
    • Conduct periodic clinical audits for quality review fidelity and trend data to inform training needs.
    • Complete diagnostic assessments in adherence to DSM-5 and ICD-10.
    • Manage maintenance of approved testing materials.
    • Coordinate with CCS departments to ensure positive customer experience with referral and scheduling.
    • Provide training for new assessors as well as ongoing fidelity checks for assessors.
    • Update SOP (standard operating procedures) for KP and CCS assessments.
    • Conduct quality reviews of CCS assessments.
    • Conduct treatment assessment, progress report and discharge reviews.
    • Act as a second opinion for complex cases.
    • Consult with providers around treatment.

    QUALIFICATIONS

    Minimum Education, Experience & Training Equivalent to:

    • Licensed Psychologist, Licensed Psychiatrist, or Licensed Doctor of Education.
    • Minimum of 5 years' psychological assessment experience.
    • Experience with administrating ADOS-2, Mullen Scales of Early Learning, Vineland, and WISC-V required.
    • Experience with VB-MAPP, AFLS, DP-3, and DAS-II preferred.
    • Experience conducting diagnostic evaluations and completing diagnostic reports.

    Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

    • Extensive proficiency in issues of childhood development.
    • Sensitivity to working with an ethnically, linguistically, culturally, and economically diverse population.
    • A commitment to the values of the organization while demonstrating good judgment, flexibility, patience, and discretion when dealing with confidential and sensitive matters.
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.), especially Excel and related computer software.
    • Ability to consistently demonstrate good judgment and decision-making skills.
    • Ability to maintain the highest levels of confidentiality.
    • Ability to work in an exciting, fast paced high energy environment while effectively multitasking.
    • Personable; able to work comfortably with individuals at all levels within the organization.

    • Ability to manage day-to-day responsibilities with or without supervision.
    • Frequent proofreading and checking documents for accuracy.
    • Excellent verbal and writing communication skills.
    • Must be highly detail oriented.
    • Strong interpersonal skills.

    Physical Requirements:

    • Frequent bending, reaching, squatting, kneeling, twisting to observe, assess, and interact with clients.
    • Ability to stand or sit for extended periods of time, stand for up to 6-8 hours a day.
    • Occasional lifting, carrying, and loading/unloading toys and materials up to and including 25 lbs. to 50 lbs. used in home visits.
    • Must be able to communicate effectively within the work environment, read and write using the primary language with the workplace.
    • Visual and auditory ability to work with clients, staff, and others in the workplace continuously.
    • Frequent exposure to disability disorders in clients; occasional emergency situation; occasional exposure to trauma; constant client contacts and decision making; constant concentration required when working with clients.
    • Frequent speaking and listening (25-75%) to clients, staff, and others in the workplace.
    • Ability to utilize computer, cell phone (iPhone)
    • Frequent sitting.

    CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT

    • Ability to obtain and maintain criminal record clearance through the Department of Justice (DOJ). The People & Performance Department must analyze DOJ/FBI live scan reports in accordance with applicable Federal, State, and Local laws, as well as fitness for the position.
    • Ability to travel to multiple work sites and client homes; reliable transportation needed.
    • Must have a valid Driver's License with insurance and maintain a clean driving record.
    • Must pass health screenings, obtain vaccinations, and clear TB testing based on company policies.
    • Ability to obtain and maintain clearance through the Office of Inspector General.
    • Ability to obtain and maintain credentialing through funding source(s) if applicable.
    • Ability to obtain and maintain CPR certification.
    • Maintain active psychologist licensure in the State of California.
    • Ability to obtain and maintain Safety Care certification.
    • Ability to obtain and maintain a CAQH credential
    • Ability to obtain and maintain NPI number.
    • Must attend all required training.
