- Understanding the mechanical features of low and high-rise buildings
- Supervising the work of varied Trades staff responsible for performing maintenance and building repairs of Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning (HVAC), plumbing, electrical, and mechanical controls
- Ensuring that all projects performed on the building are properly planned, executed, and closed out in accordance with standard DGS policies
- Providing oversight of the Building Automation System and Enterprise Building Integration system
- Reviewing designs, calculating costs, administrating contracts, assisting with SOW/project cost sheets review and development
- Managing and tracking preventative maintenance using Maximo software
- Assigning prioritized work orders to engineering and trades staff
- Ensuring that compliance of all regulatory laws, codes, and guidelines are met as they relate to the operation of the building infrastructure
- Alerting management of building discrepancies
- Four years of experience within the last fifteen years in the maintenance and operation of a heating, ventilating, and air- conditioning system and related equipment in a large commercial, industrial, or governmental building or institution including one year of experience in supervising such a system
