    POSITION SUMMARY

    Support the Route Managers and RSR's in the administration of the service department's activities. Must be self motivated, work independently, and maintain good working relationships with customer base. Drive a truck or van with a capacity of less than 26,000 GVW, primarily to deliver or pick up merchandise within a specified area. May load and unload truck.

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
    • Duties and Responsibilities: 1. Learn all routes as assigned by the route manager and fill in as needed during vacations, holidays, and absences. 2. Deliver any customer call in "specials" as directed. 3. Have a thorough knowledge of the company's products, services, prices, policies and procedures. 4. Maintain a low percentage of quits, redates, and credits on assigned route. 5. Obtain signature for delivery verification for each delivery.
    • While Running a Route: 1) Make sure all deliveries are complete and accurate. 2) All handhelds must be downloaded; invoices and work orders must be completed accurately and turned in daily. 3) Be responsible for company money, inventory, delivery vehicle, phone, handheld, and equipment used in conducting daily route activities. 4) Maintain customer good will by demonstrating an interest in, devoting time to, and practicing courtesy toward all customers.
    • Delivery Area at all Customer Accounts: 1) Delivery area will be maintained in a neat and orderly fashion. 2) Uniforms will be hung in order. 3) Hanger racks and service request boards will be placed where needed and replaced as needed.
    • Personal Appearance: 1) Company uniforms are required to be clean and worn on a daily basis. 2) Stay properly groomed. Beards must be trimmed and/or clean shaven.
    • Driving Habits/Truck Maintenance: 1) Keep truck clean inside and out. 2) Maintain a valid driver's license and a good driving record. 3) Maintain and update DOT certification as needed. 4) Have the proper attitude toward operation of company vehicles. 5) Be courteous toward other drivers at all times. 6) No cell phone use while driving.
