    Position Summary


    This position is responsible for the overall administration and supervision of the Psychological Services Unit at the Jackson Correctional Institution (JCI).

    As such, the Psychologist Supervisor is responsible for the development, administration, supervision and coordination of all psychological services programs within the facility.


    This position supervises the Psychological Services Unit staff; develops staff development programs and provides training; provides direct services to persons in our care; provides consultation to institution administration and staff; administers the psychological services program to provide support services and ensure compliance with State and Federal guidelines and program standards; and also manages an Affirmative Action Plan and Health and Safety program within assigned responsibility areas.

    Salary Information

    This position is in pay schedule and range 81-02 with a starting base pay of $48.87/hour to $55.16/hour. ($101,649 - $114,732/year).


    Candidates in possession of a Doctorate of Psychology (or equivalent) may be eligible for supplemental pay of an additional $6.00 per hour.


    Pay rates on appointment for current state employees may vary according to the applicable pay transaction provisions of the Compensation Plan and Wisconsin Administrative Code.

    A twelve-month probationary period is required.

    This position allows occasional remote work but will normally be on site.


    A two-year Career Executive trial period will be required, or for those with permanent status as a Career Executive, a twelve-month probationary period may be required instead.

    without DOC sponsorship) at the time of application.

    The Department of Corrections will conduct criminal background checks on applicants prior to selection. Upon hire, all new DOC employees are subject to fingerprinting.

    Qualifications


    SPECIAL REQUIREMENT:


    Applicants must possess current Wisconsin licensure as a Psychologist or be licensed in another state and be eligible to obtain Wisconsin licensure by time of appointment.


    This position will require:

    • Applying the theory, principles and practices of appropriate psychology subject matter areas, including the psychology of personality, developmental psychology, psychopathology, and psychometrics
    • Application of clinical treatment methodology and concepts
    • Using approved diagnostic and psychotherapeutic methods and techniques of clinical psychology
    • Appropriate application of fundamental individual and group psychotherapy approaches
    • Program development, implementation and administration.
    • Conducting psychological evaluations
    • Clinical supervision and training others
