    Northrop Grumman Mission Systems (NGMS) is seeking a Principal Embedded Software Engineer eager to explore new technologies. This role involves working on cutting-edge software for advanced products and systems, focusing primarily on C/C++.

    Summary of Role:

    As a Principal Embedded Software Engineer, you will be part of the digital transformation journey within the Software and Digital Technologies Organization. By leveraging Model-based Engineering, DevSecOps, and Agile methods, we are advancing the delivery of crucial national defense solutions. We seek individuals who are collaborative, transparent, and team-oriented, with a strong emphasis on innovation and continuous improvement.

    Roles and Responsibilities:

    • Identifying risks, suggesting mitigation, tracking defects, developing resolutions, and reporting status
    • Executing unit tests, building verification test plans, and monitoring test status
    • Reviewing software products, designs, and technical documents
    • Participating in Integrated Product Teams (IPT) and design reviews
    • Engaging in technical peer reviews to ensure system/software requirements are met comprehensively

    The Software and Digital Technologies Organization has openings in three sub-organizations:

    • Software Technologies: Specializing in Radars and Sensors for various platforms
    • Product Line Software: Developing real-time embedded software systems
    • Secure Processing: Focused on safeguarding sensitive information and preventing security threats

    Basic Qualifications for Principal Embedded Software Engineer:

    • 5 years of relevant experience with a bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field
    • Experience with C/C++ and real-time embedded software
    • Proficiency in full software lifecycle
    • U.S Citizenship
    • Ability to obtain and maintain DoD Secret Clearance

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Experience in real-time embedded software development and knowledge of Radar, Electronic Warfare, or Space technologies
    • Proficiency in algorithmic application development and optimization
    • Experience with VxWorks, Linux, Visual Studio, Matlab, and other relevant tools
    • Familiarity with Model Based Engineering and DevSecOps best practices

    This position is subject to Clearance Transfer and Special Program Access approval.

    Salary Range: $102,400 - $153,600
    The salary offer depends on factors such as experience, education, and market conditions. Employees may also be eligible for bonuses and other incentives.
