    Role description:
    Arcadis seeks an experienced Lead Bridge Design Engineer to join our team in Michigan.


    As the Lead Bridge Design Engineer, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of bridge design projects, from conceptualization to completion.

    Your role will involve leading a team of engineers, collaborating with clients, and ensuring the successful delivery of projects in compliance with industry standards and regulations.

    This position requires a strong background in bridge design, project management, and team leadership.


    Role Accountabilities :
    Lead and manage bridge design projects, ensuring they are completed within scope, budget, and schedule.

    Provide technical expertise and guidance to the project team, fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment.

    Supervise and mentor a team of bridge design engineers, promoting professional development and knowledge sharing.

    Assist in marketing and proposal preparation and Assist with the completion of bid documents for various municipal and public clients

    Cultivate a positive team culture that emphasizes collaboration, creativity, and efficiency.

    Develop and review detailed bridge plans, specifications, and construction documents.

    Ensure designs comply with applicable codes, standards, and regulations, including those set by the Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT).

    Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, understanding their needs and ensuring client satisfaction throughout project execution.

    Collaborate with clients to identify additional services and support business development initiatives.

    Implement and enforce quality control processes to guarantee the accuracy and precision of bridge design deliverables.

    Conduct thorough reviews of project documentation to identify and address potential issues.

    Stay updated on relevant industry codes, standards, and regulations, ensuring project compliance.

    Ensure that bridge designs adhere to safety and environmental guidelines.

    Effectively communicate project progress, challenges, and solutions to internal teams, clients, and stakeholders.

    Prepare and deliver technical presentations as needed.


    Required Qualifications :
    10+ years of experience in bridge design and project management.

    Bachelors or Masters degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.

    Professional Engineer (PE) license in the state of Michigan.

    Experience with MDOT bid document preparation utilizing OBD, BrR, and other software.


    Key Skills and Abilities :
    Working routinely with OBD and drainage software

    Proven leadership skills with experience in managing and mentoring engineering teams.

    Proficiency in bridge design software and tools such as Bentley LEAP Bridge, STAAD, or similar.

    Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.

    Familiarity with Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) bridge design standards and procedures.

    We offer nine paid holidays and 15 days PTO that accrue per year. The salary range for this position is $104,000 - $145,600.
