    Summary:

    The Registered Nurse (RN) provides professional nursingcare for the comfort and well-being of patients. The RegisteredNurse (RN) prepares equipment and assists physician duringexaminations and treatments. The Registered Nurse (RN) administersprescribed medications, changes dressings, cleans wounds, andmonitors patient vital signs. The Registered Nurse (RN) observesand maintains records on patient care, condition, reaction, andprogress.

    The Registered Nurse (RN)participates as primary nurse, associate nurse, a team member orteam leader in the planning and implementing of patient care. TheRegistered Nurse (RN) directs and assists in carrying out safeaseptic technique and procedures. The Registered Nurse (RN) offersleadership and direction to all support staff withindepartment.

    CHRISTUS Spohn Hospital Alice wasbuilt in 1999 to serve the healthcare needs of people in Alice andthe surrounding communities. The hospital is a Level IV TraumaCenter and is licensed for 186 beds and offers comprehensivemedical and surgical services including pediatrics, obstetrics,skilled nursing, emergency and intensive care, as well as cardiacand comprehensive services. At CHRISTUS Spohn Hospital Alice,Coastal Bend nurses can feel confident they have a place to workthat will support them and help them grow professionally. Thehospital has achieved the Pathway to Excellence designation by theAmerican Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), recognizing hospitalswhich support and nurture their nurses' development.

    Requirements:

    • Associate's Degree inNursing
    • One year experience in nursingpreferred. Will accept a new graduate.
    • Current Texas State RN License orCompact RN License
    • BLS (AmericanHeart Association)
    • ACLS required at time ofhire for experienced RNs. New graduate nurses must obtain ACLS bythe end of the clinical orientation period.
    • NIHSS required within 90 days of hire/transferdate
    • De-escalation training required within 90days of hire/transfer date
    • TNCC required within6 weeks of hire for experienced RNs. New graduate nurses mustobtain TNCC within 18 months of hire/transferdate.
    • PALS required at time of hire forexperienced RNs. New graduate nurses must obtain PALS by the end ofthe clinical orientation period.
