    Summary You will serve as a HUMAN RESOURCES ASSISTANT (MILITARY/OFFICE AUTOMATION) in the Installation Personnel Administration Center (IPAC) of Marine Corps Recruit Depot San Diego.

    Responsibilities You will provide assistance, information, and administrative support to the Marines, Sailors, and civilian personnel assigned to the Depot.

    You will prepare unit diaries timely and accurately; reconcile Unit Diary Feedback Reports; conduct audits of service records; generate, validate and take corrective action on rosters obtained from the Marine Corps Total Force System (MCTFS).

    You will track and join inbound personnel, join and access recruits; service record book audit, create recruit records as they arrive and update permanent personnel records as required.

    You will maintain and audit service records, verify documents are incorporated in the Official Military Personnel File; verify that units are submitting Junior Enlisted Performance Evaluation System Marks on required occasions.

    You will be responsible for tracking and reporting all mandatory training events for recruits via Unit Diary.

    You will prepare documents required for new joins (accessions) to include Servicemembers' Group Life Insurance (SGLI), DD Form State of Legal Residence), W-4 (Employee's Withholding Certificate), and DD Form 93 (Record of Emergency Data).

    You will ensure uniformed service members receive Department of Defense benefits which they are entitled to. You will be responsible for recruit assignment via Marine Corps Training Information Management System (MCTIMS). You will screen recruits with dependents and provide additional forms to complete.

    Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-05 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector performing most or all of the following duties: 1) Utilizing standard administrative processes, office operations, and office automated software and equipment to perform procedural and clerical work in support of military personnel programs, operations, and functions; 2) Processing military personnel actions using military personnel processing automated systems (e.g., Unit Diary Marine Integrated Personnel Service [UDMIPS], Marine Corps Total Force System [MCTFS], Marine Corps Training Information Management System [MCTIMS], Document Tracking Management Service [DTMS]); 3) Interpreting and applying military personnel, pay, and administration policies and procedures to ensure regulatory compliance; and 4) Communicating orally and in writing to effectively liaise with executive-level personnel.

    This position requires the ability to type at least 40 words per minute. Your response to the typing skill question on the Occupational Questionnaire will be used in your qualification determination.
