    Description

    The Compliance Associate position was established to assist with evaluation and providing technical assistance to homeless services agencies with grant funds; specifically, programs utilizing: Continuum of Care (CoC), Emergency Solutions Grant (ESG), and other covered grant sources. This role collaborates between stakeholders and agencies across New York state (NYS) to align program compliance with applicable Federal regulations, NYS regulations, local written standards, and best practices. The position ensures the CoC Board of Directors, relevant committees, city and community departments, and state representatives are provided a summary of the compliance status, achievements, and challenges each of the 12 Continuums of Care face.

    Requirements

    ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Assists updating standards of review, evaluation, and best practice recommendations for policies and procedures for the general operation of the local CoC programs and related activities to prevent unethical, improper, or fraudulent conduct.
    • Supports the periodic review and update to the standard operating procedures of Continuums to ensure compliance with current regulations.
    • Serves as an independent review and evaluation body to ensure that compliance issues/concerns within the Continuum (including Board and Membership) are being appropriately evaluated, investigated, and resolved.
    • Identifies potential areas of compliance vulnerability and risk; develops/implements corrective action plans for resolution of problematic issues and provides general guidance on how to remain compliant.
    • Provides reports on a regular basis, as directed or requested, to keep the CoC Unit Director and the Continuums of Care Board of Directors informed of the operation and progress of compliance efforts.
    • Maintains and updates knowledge about the US Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), its regulations, and best practices within the homeless service delivery systems.
    • Act as main contact for designated CoCs.
    • Maintains the Compliance Team inbox and calendar, digital organization and record retention, and Annual Monitoring Timeline.
    • Provides administrative support to the Grants & Contracts Team.
    • Provides strong customer service.
    EXPERIENCE
    • Experience in a professional setting and customer service or funding administrator role preferred. Grant regulation experience and non-profit setting preferred.
    EDUCATION
    • Bachelor's degree preferred.

    LOCATION

    This position is fully remote. Subject to change at any time.

    WORK WEEK

    Full-time role, 40 hours per week. Monday through Friday with hours flexible between 7:30am-6:00pm

    HOURLY RANGE

    $25.48-$26.44
