    Description

    POSITION SUMMARY


    Provide superior quality, competitive value and outstanding service and is primarily concerned with the analysis of statutory accounting records and reporting requirements related Health First Health Plans, Inc.

    Perform complex analyses of financial information related to the revenue/medical expenses of the organization. Provide support to the Senior/Lead Analysts in the performance of reconciliations, journal entries and other items.


    PRIMARY ACCOUNTABILITIES

    • Assist in compilation and review of the monthly revenue/medical expense analyses and reconciliation.
    • Assist in preparation of the company's revenue/medical expense reporting on a monthly and annual basis.
    • Prepare and review journal entries.
    4.. Prepare audit schedules and support various financial audits.


    • Complete account reconciliations of all Balance Sheet items.
    • Review schedules and assist in providing explanations for variances.
    • Maintain general knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles, Statutory Accounting Principles, and keep abreast of changes that are inherent in accounting regulations for reporting and compliance.
    • Analyze and prepare preliminary, standard and adjusting journal entries assigned for key transactions/business units.
    • Identify and research general ledger account variances.
    • Ensure that revenues are recorded accurately and timely.
    • Responsible for meeting the HFHP close deadlines and milestones.
    • Identify areas for efficiency improvements and provide Leadership with recommendations and participate in projects identifying financial savings.

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

    Education:
    Bachelor's degree in business administration, finance, accounting, or related field, from an accredited college or university

    Certification:
    None Required


    Work Experience:
    Two years accounting experience


    Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

    • Ability to understand and utilize software packages, such as PeopleSoft, Microsoft Excel, Word, Access and Windows.
    • Time management and priority setting skills
    • Possess excellent analytical and problem solving skills.
    • Possess strong computer abilities and communication skills.
    • Demonstrates the ability to relate well with all customers and peers.
    • Ability to prioritize and organize to maximize quality, value, and service.
    • Remain current on all financial regulations and standards.

    PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS Sedentary - Office Workers

    Majority of time involves sitting or standing; occasional walking, bending, stooping

    Long periods of computer time or at workstation

    Light work that may include lifting or moving objects up to 20 pounds with or without assistance.

    May be exposed to inside environments with varied temperatures, air quality, lighting and/or low to moderate noise

    Communicating with others to exchange information.

    Visual acuity and hand-eye coordination to perform tasks

    Workspace may vary from open to confined; on site or remote

    May require travel to various facilities within and beyond county perimeter; may require use of personal vehicle
