    Job Overview: Hands-On Technology Education, LLC (HOTE) seeks to provide safe, engaging, and balanced Computer Science & Engineering activities (e.g. after-school programs, workshops, summer camps, & professional development opportunities) for K-12 students in the San Diego area.

    The STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts & Math) Education Community Relations Specialist will assist HOTE in forming relationships with schools, youth organizations, and facilities in our pre-specified San Diego STEAM regions. The specialist will then use those relationships to help HOTE locate and interact with organizations & community groups that are interested in youth STEAM activities.

    Primarily Duties & Responsibilities:

    1. Identify and contact potential locations for summer camps, after-school programs, workshops, and professional development.
    2. Interact with youth organizations & community groups interested in STEAM activities for youth.
    3. Schedule regular outreach exhibitions in the community to garner interest and exposure for HOTE.
    4. Fluent in customer & client management:nurturing new and old relationships with collaborative partners.
    5. Actively Engage & Outreach with current & new clients in the SD STEAM Community
    6. Event Management: conduct Planning & Outreach for new programs: After-School, Professional Development, Summer Camps, and Workshops
      1. Provide internal timeline, logistical coordination, stakeholder communication, volunteer outreach, market collateral, vendor liaison, and/or sponsorship management.
      2. Coordinate HOTE-sponsored participation and attendance for outreach events including but not limited to EXPOs, Fairs, Demos, & miscellaneous community events.
      3. Coordinate Professional Development conferences & events on behalf of HOTE
    7. Coordinate registration for HOTE programs including but not limited to summer camps.
    8. Support grant and additional funding opportunities on behalf of HOTE
    9. Facilitate and/or Develop Press Kit (Digital Materials for Outreach) & Pitch for new programming
    10. Demonstrate understanding and proficiency with HOTE Core curriculum
    11. Generate analysis, feedback and guidance for programs based on community needs, HOTE resources, and data from student, parent, staff feedback.
    12. Experience in using social media and marketing platforms
      1. Examples include IG, FB, MailChimp, LinkedIn, and other social media platforms
    13. Event Planning/Coordination:
      1. F&B vendor sourcing
      2. Stakeholder communication development
      3. Presenter for outreach, as well as clear and transparent communication.

    Job Length:

    • The intended job length for this contract will be 6 months from September2023 - March 2024. Both employer and contractor will mutually agree on contract length and options for renewing after the initial contract has finished.
    • Applicant must be available to commit between hours a week to the job's activities.

    Requirements:

    • 2+ years of relevant experience in one of
      • (a) Education (teaching or administration)
      • (b) STEAM-related activities (e.g. current collegiate student in a STEAM related field), or
      • (c) Marketing
    • Ability to communicate effectively with educators, administration officials, parents, future/current clients.
    • Ability to travel to multiple locations (After-school programs, summer camps, workshops, etc.) on behalf of Hands-On Technology Education, LLC
    • Current or prior experience working with Science or Mathematics at the K-12 (e.g. teaching) or collegiate levels (e.g. bachelor's student in science-related field) is a plus.
    • Outstanding written communication and presentation skills, along with experience preparing reports.
    • Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple projects at a time.
