Description
The Pedorthists essential responsibility to perform clinical tasks to support the work of the physician, the patient and other health professionals.
The Pedorthist performs procedures such as casting and sizing each patient properly for DM Shoes and Custom Braces. Also managing every step of the SafeStep portal and patient issues.Required Skills and Experience:
High School Diploma/ GED equivalent
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients, other employees, and the public
Knowledgeable about health insurance, pre-authorization, insurance verification, medical terminology, CPT codes and ICD-9 codes
Must have excellent customer service skills
Able to work in a fast-paced and demanding work environment
Must have a team mentality, flexibility and willingness to learn
The ability to communicate effectively, multi-task and work under pressure is the key to success in this position, which also requires attention to detail and a commitment to achieving consistent customer satisfaction.
The ability to uphold HIPAA compliance is mandatory.Knowledge of Hepatitis B Vaccination or Declination Form
Must exercise good judgment and discretion
Extensive knowledge and use of Modmed
Able to manage all aspects of the CPED Program with minimal supervision
Technologically savvy and familiar with Microsoft Office products including:
Google Documents
Word
Excel
Essential Functions/Responsibilities (other duties may be assigned):
Manage CPED Patient Scheduler:
dates/times
Manage CPED paperwork for DM shoes
Manage CPED paperwork for Custom Braces
Check patient charts for insurance verification
Check Medicare portal for Same/Similar DM Shoes/Braces
Expedite DME issues:
DME shoe backorders, custom orthotic re-fabs, canceled orders
Prep/print charts and paperwork for OHI scheduled dates
Scan all paperwork for DM shoes and Custom Braces
Communicate to the PAs if issues arise with orders
All proper forms are signed by patients
Cast and dispense DM Shoes and custom braces
Proactive patient communication on DME eligibility
Manage reorders and returns
Oversee new custom DME initiatives
Check patient in and out
Assist with billing issues
Assist the Pas if needed
