    Exciting Opportunity as a Direct Support Professional - Community Habilitation at BCS

    Position: Direct Support Professional - Community Habilitation

    Program: Community Habilitation

    Reports to: Program Director

    Work Location: Brooklyn, NY

    Hours: Part-Time

    Shifts: Afternoons and evenings on weekdays and weekends

    Salary Range: $16.50/hour - $18/hour

    Overview: Join our team at BCS as a Direct Support Professional in Community Habilitation, where you will play a crucial role in supporting individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities to achieve their goals and lead fulfilling lives in the community.

    Responsibilities:

    • Assist in developing individualized Community Habilitation Plans
    • Support individuals in daily activities and social skill development
    • Promote community integration and relationships
    • Provide education on health-related topics and specialized dietary needs
    • Attend meetings and reviews to ensure individual progress
    • Maintain professional relationships and required documentation
    • Ensure safety and well-being of individuals at all times

    Qualifications Required:

    • HS Diploma or GED required; BA in Human Services preferred
    • 1 year of experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities
    • Interpersonal skills, problem-solving abilities, and teamwork mindset
    • Computer literacy and ability to take initiative
    • Pass OPWDD fingerprinting and background check
    • Fully vaccinated against COVID-19
