    Summary About the Position:
    This position is in the Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel System (DCIPS). Employees occupying DCIPS positions are in the Excepted Service and must adhere to U.S.

    Code, Title 10, as well as Department of Defense Instruction This position is located at the National Ground Intelligence Center, Information Technology Directorate, Charlottesville, VA Responsibilities The Senior Storage Engineer will be responsible for providing data center support for a variety of storage systems and Storage Area Network (SAN) infrastructure services and solutions – both on premise and cloud.

    Leads team of technical specialists in developing innovative strategies for identifying and resolving implementation and integration issues.


    Provides NetApp Infrastructure:
    architectural design, maintenance and support IAW DISA, ARCYBER, DoD and IC guidelines to include applicable DISA STIG requirements.

    Identifies and analyzes technical trade-offs against optimum system integration, user functionality, and resource utilization and supports the implementation of and migration to cloud services.

    Performs a key role in the preparation and execution of continuity and disaster recovery processes and life cycle replacement strategies.

    Responsible for planning, coordinating, implementing, and evaluating installation, maintenance and enhancement of modern storage and backup systems.

    One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GG/GS-12 grade level in the Federal service which includes experience performing a variety of duties necessary to plan, coordinate, implement and evaluate installation, maintenance and enhancement of complex operating system software products for medium and large-scale multi-user computer systems.

    TERM:
    This announcement is for a term position. Permanent employees who apply, are selected for, and ultimately accept this position will be converted to a term appointment. Term positions in DCIPS may be extended up to a maximum of five years.

    This position may be converted to permanent without further competition after completion of two years of continuous service in this position.

    Multiple positions may be filled from this announcement. Salary includes applicable locality pay or Local Market Supplement.

    Payment of Permanent Change of Station (PCS) costs is not authorized, based on a determination that a PCS move is not in the Government interest.
