    JUNIOR FIELD ENGINEER (RF)

    Guided Weapons Evaluation Facility (GWEF), Eglin AFB, FL – On Site


    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

    Understand basic design techniques using RF components. Prepare and verify test items for operation and troubleshoot failed test items using established procedures. Design, set-up and operate RF equipment configured for testing simulator performance and system diagnostics. Collect and analyze data during testing for post processing analysis. Install, operate, maintain, and evaluate RF simulation equipment.

    Simulation equipment includes network analyzers, signal generators, spectrum analyzers, interface cabling, PCs, computer interfaces to simulation equipment, flight motion simulators, RF systems, high sensitivity radiometers and RF calibration equipment, etc.

    Work under the supervision of senior level personnel.


    GENERAL DUTIES:

    Design, develop, operate, and maintain complex electronic equipment utilized by GWEF RF HITL for guided munitions and RF simulations. These systems include foreign and domestic surface-to-air, air-to-air, and air-to-surface weapons sensors and simulation hardware. Support facility engineers and analysts in developing test capabilities. Prepare and verify test items for operation and troubleshoot failed test items using established procedures.

    Set up test equipment, design configuration of test areas for simulation, prepare equipment and perform equipment diagnostics, operate RF equipment, collect, and analyze data during testing and process data collected.

    Support the design, alignment, and calibration of RF systems. Assist in the preparation of RF technical reports and correspondence.


    OTHER DUTIES:

    Additional duties may be assigned to support facility engineers and analysts in developing test capabilities.

    EDUCATION/


    EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

    Must have an Associate Degree or Training certificates in electronics or engineering from trade schools, colleges, military, etc.

    Must have a minimum of one years' experience in specialized area related to RF systems technologies and focused areas of design, development, operations, and maintenance of RF systems including transmitters and receivers.

    Working knowledge of RF components in complex electronic equipment utilized for guided munitions and RF simulations.


    OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

    This position requires a TOP SECRET security clearance. Candidates may have a Secret clearance that has been adjudicated within the last 5 years. Must meet requirements to operate in enhanced security environments. Supports E-OMS operational objectives. Observes company quality, safety, environmental, security and administrative policies; supports process improvements.


    WORK ENVIRONMENT:

    Most duties will be performed in a temperature-controlled office environment.


    PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

    This position will be subject to substantial movements (motions) of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers.

    Must be able to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as:

    preparing and analyzing data and figures; viewing a computer terminal; and requires some lifting or moving of objects. Must be capable of sitting, walking, and standing.
