    Description

    Are you passionate about providing personal care and services to hospice patients?

    Join our team as a Home Health Aide (HHA) at VITAS, where you will play a crucial role in supporting patients and their families during challenging times.

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Assist patients with personal hygiene.
    • Plan and prepare meals for patients.
    • Support patient ambulation.
    • Assist with treatments as directed by the physician.
    • Record vital signs.

    ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Maintain a safe environment for patients.
    • Engage patients in stimulating activities.
    • Offer emotional support to patients and families.
    • Report any changes in patient condition to the healthcare team.
    • Provide basic personal care training to caregivers.

    QUALIFICATIONS

    • High School diploma or equivalent.
    • Completion of required training and competency evaluation.

    TRAINING/CERTIFICATION

    State-specific training and certification required in: AL, CO, DC, DE, FL, GA, IN, MI, PA, TX, VA, WI.

    SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS

    • Ability to follow instructions and travel as needed.
    • Access to a telephone.

    PHYSICAL DEMANDS

    • Assist with patient transfers and lifting.
    • Lift objects weighing over 20 pounds.
    • Stand or walk for extended periods.
    • Excellent vision and hearing abilities.

    REPORTING

    • Directly report to the VITAS Nurse for assignments.
    • Receive clinical guidance from the VITAS Nurse.
