    Description

    This position is exempt and follows a hybrid work model.

    As a member of the Content team, the Content Editor works with NABP staff and SMEs (e.g., Review Committee Members, Item Writers, etc.) to ensure content is clear, accurate and consistent for all NABP examinations. Using established style guidelines, the Editor will review and edit examination questions for grammar, punctuation, spelling, tone, and format.

    Program Support

    • Review and edit new and existing items as assigned to ensure content is clear, accurate and consistent for all NABP examinations.
    • Using established style guidelines, review and edit examination questions for grammar, punctuation, spelling, tone, and format.
    • Consistently apply multiple formatting preferences and standards across all assigned projects.
    • Review exam forms to be published. Inform Content Manager of any necessary changes impacting any NABP examinations.
    • Review exam forms to ensure consistent tone across entire exam form(s).
    • Assist in the creation of exam screens utilizing internal Item Bank software.
    • Participate in Item Development Workshops for all NABP examinations.
    • Work closely with SMEs and provide guidance and feedback for Item Writers and Review Committee Members during workshops and other meetings.
    • Reviews item writer and Review Committee member evaluation forms as well as provide feedback on item writers and review committee reviews.
    • Assist in the creation of reports and job aids as required.
    • Document and regularly revise procedures for the Content team.
    • Assist in copyrighting exam content as required according to established procedures and key deliverable dates.
    • Assist in item bank maintenance during scheduled item reviews, including but not limited to internal item bank reviews, Operational Pool Reviews, State-Specific Reviews, Pretest Item Analysis, etc.
    • Works collaboratively with the Item Bank Program Analyst and Content Manager as well as other internal NABP staff and temporary contract employees.
    • Ability to meet deadlines and support multiple projects due by key deliverable dates.

    Research

    • Review all images, figures and tables included in exam items and forms have all appropriate and required copyright permission. Research and update as needed to ensure NABP examinations are up to date.
    • Maintain familiarity with current healthcare industry trends, pharmaceutical practices and regulatory requirements that affect medical writing.
    • Works collaboratively with CA Clinical Program Manager on candidate comment review process and makes necessary recommendations for edits as necessary.

    Requirements:

    • Bachelor's degree, preferably in Communications, Technical Writing, English or Science.
    • 5 years of content editing experience
    • 3 years of medical/pharmaceutical editing knowledge
    • Knowledge of established clinical guidelines preferred.
    • Proficient in MS Office tools and applications.
    • Knowledge of HTML preferred.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
    • Expertise in English grammar and syntax.
    • Knowledge of AMA writing and editing style preferred.
    • Highly proficient with attention to detail.
    • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment with multiple projects.
    • Pharmaceutical industry knowledge a plus.
