Description
Position Summary:
Collaborates with Pastor and Parish Staff in developing and strengthening the Parish office.
The Parish seeks an individual that will approach this job also as a response to a vocation to serve the Parish.
Work Hours:
Part time / 16 hours per week.
Monday - Thursday, 9am - 1pm
Duties and Responsibilities:
This is a leadership position strongly oriented to work as a team with the existing staff, leading multiple initiatives that will make our Parish continue to grow and get stronger.
Daily:
Front desk duties. Keeping the front desk tidy and presentable with all necessary materials. Greeting and welcoming guests. Answering and redirecting incoming calls and taking messages. Receiving and distributing letters, packages, and other correspondence
Weekly:
Printing checks for payments in collaboration with parish bookkeeper.
As needed:
Prepare and record Sacramental records. Parish registrations. On boarding new parish volunteers. Updating parish database.
Annual:
a) Assist with the Annual Diocesan Appeal processing, reporting, and thank-you's notes. b) Assist with annual Tax Letter distribution.
Qualifications:
Bilingual preferred - English/Spanish.
Proficient in QuickBooks, Parish Soft, Microsoft Office such as Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.
Other Requirements:
Fully initiated, practicing Catholic preferred with good communication and leadership.
Current Saint Thomas Aquinas active parishioner. Not exclusive but preferred.
High degree of work ethic as well as respect for confidentiality.
Flexibility and willingness to collaborate as a team member sharing personal talents and letting another share theirs.
Ability to interact and collaborate with both volunteers and staff. Attending monthly staff meeting.
Strong oral and written communication skills.
Self-motivated and reliable. Positive problem solving.
Salary Range:
$ $30.91 per hour based on education and experience.
