The Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Medicine at theUniversity of Illinois College of Medicine Peoria seeks a psychiatrist withstrong interest in graduate medical education to lead the development of acollaborative care model in the region. The position is full-time at the rankof Assistant or Associate Professor.
Our department has worked closely with community partners toprepare for the development of a collaborative care model for the area. Withexceptional facilities across a three-county region, we seek a motivated leaderto guide the creation of a team-based model of care that integrates psychiatricpractice in primary care settings. The success of our other clinical and educationalprograms and the experience of the current faculty offer ample support to theincoming Director. Candidates should share our values for high-quality patientcare, the education of residents and medical students, and the promotion of scholarlyactivity. The ideal candidate will have meaningful administrative experience,excellent teaching and communication skills, and be eager to lead. Competitivesalary and benefits are commensurate with rank.
The responsibilities of the position include development andoversite of a collaborative care program, promoting a culture of excellence, staffmanagement, teaching, and scholarship. Other duties will be tailored to theinterest of the applicant and include opportunities in adult inpatient and outpatientclinical care, college student mental health, scholarship, and classroomteaching. The department values and supports the growth, development, andprofessional advancement of its faculty members.
Minimum requirements include licensed or license-eligible inthe state of Illinois and ABPN board-certification or board-eligibility inadult psychiatry.
Position Summary
The faculty member will work with the Department Chair to develop collaborative care services for individuals and families in the community. The faculty member will provide guidance and oversight to an emerging enterprise to facilitate the mission of the department for clinical care, education, scholarship, and outreach.
