    Department Overview

    The Middle Market Lending Team provides senior, one-stop and second lien loans to U.S. middle market companies. The team structures financing solutions with hold positions of up to $700 million.

    We also underwrite and syndicate senior credit facilities and a proprietary suite of GOLD (unitranche) facilities up to $2 billion.

    The Middle Market Lending Team has specialty teams in four verticals:
    Consumer, Restaurant and Retail, Diversified Industries, Healthcare and Software & Technology services.

    The team has an outstanding track record of closing deals on time and at the agreed-upon terms, utilizing deep industry knowledge to identify, advise on and implement value creation strategies.

    Key responsibilities include origination and underwriting of loans. The team works closely with all areas of the Firm to ensure seamless execution.


    The Direct Lending COO Team works directly with Direct Lending leaders and management to drive planning and reporting, manage critical projects and initiatives and handle the day-to-day business management of the Direct Lending business.

    Position Responsibilities


    • Working closely with the DL COO Team to identify and tackle strategic business challenges
    • Supporting the Co-Heads of Direct Lending, Underwriting and Origination to achieve stated goals and pursue new business initiatives
    • Preparing presentations, analyses and recommendations for senior management
    • Building and maintaining financial models
    • Working across the Firm with key internal partners on strategic initiatives
    • Becoming an expert on Golub Capital and the direct lending sector; gathering information related to market intelligence and industry trends
    Candidate Requirements


    Qualifications & Experience:

    • Bachelor's degree required
    • 2+ years of experience at a top-tier investment bank, investment management firm, strategy consulting firm, private equity firm or corporate development group
    • Strong quantitative, financial modeling and analytical skills required
    • Financial services and / or asset management industry experience preferred
    • Interest in business strategy
    • High level of intellectual curiosity with a desire to develop and implement innovative solutions to sophisticated business challenges
    • Strong project management skills and ability to multi-task
    • Strong communication skills
    • Adept at interacting with senior executives, department heads and external partners
    • Abide by our work-in-office policies then in effect
