    Job Title: Product Manager

    Location: Sports Research Headquarters - 784 W Channel Street San Pedro, Ca 90731 and Work From Home Thursdays

    Pay Grade: $ $40.00 per hour depending on experience

    We have an opportunity for a full-time, experienced health supplements & vitamins Product Manager to join our team here in our beautiful San Pedro, CA office and work from home one day a week. This role creates and refines a range of wellness products that empower our customers to lead healthier lives. The primary responsibility will be to drive the product development process, ensuring that our offerings not only meet but exceed customer expectations while adhering to regulatory standards.

    Responsibilities Include, But Are Not Limited To:

    • Product and Packaging Innovation:
      • Key member in the ideation and conceptualization of new health supplements and vitamins leveraging market insights and emerging trends.
      • Identify innovative ingredients and formulations to create cutting-edge products.
    • Product Development & Reformulation Strategy:
      • Develop a comprehensive product development strategy, including defining product roadmaps, timelines, and milestones.
      • Collaborate closely with internal and external teams (including manufacturers, external R&D teams, and external consultants) to translate concepts into tangible product specifications.
    • Cross-functional Collaboration:
      • Foster strong relationships with cross-functional teams including operations, quality assurance, sales, marketing and creative to ensure seamless product development and launch.
      • Work closely with cross-functional teams to align product development with market needs and customer feedback.
    • Regulatory Compliance:
      • Stay up-to-date with evolving regulatory requirements for health supplements and vitamins.
      • Collaborate with external regulatory teams to obtain necessary regulatory claim approvals.
    • Label Reviews
      • Work with internal and external teams to build and review current and new labels for products. Review label print proofs and ensure that the art meets Brand Guidelines, FDA regulations, and Product team's expectations.
    • Product Sampling:
      • Manage product sampling including product samples and raw materials meet or exceed team expectations and to validate product claims and efficacy.
      • Evaluate samples for taste, smell, look, and feel to ensure they meet the Product team's expectations.
      • Analyze test results to refine product formulations and features.
    • Project Management:
      • Manage the end-to-end product development process, from concept to launch, ensuring projects stay on schedule.
      • Perform Stage Gate documentation and adjusting as processes evolve or change.
      • Mitigate risks and obstacles to maintain project momentum.
    • Market Assessment:
      • Continuously assess market dynamics, competitor products, and customer feedback to make data-driven decisions for product development.
      • Stage Gate mapping and adjusting as processes evolve or change.
    • Product Expert:
      • Answers product related questions for all departments
      • Advise Customer Service and Marketing to ensure that external communications fall within FDA guidelines and company expectations.
      • Expand and maintain CPK (Central Product Knowledge) database for internal use.
    • Reporting:
      • Report R&D expenses and activities to maximum tax credits with Finance.

    Skills and Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or 5+ years' combined experience.
    • Proven track record in product development, preferably in the health supplements or pharmaceutical industry.
    • Strong understanding of formulation science and product development methodologies.
    • Exceptional project management skills, with a focus on delivering products on time.
    • Deep knowledge of regulatory compliance in the supplements and vitamins industry.
    • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
    Working Conditions

    This role works in a collaborative indoor office setting with desks, computers, stairs, telephones and a copy machine.

    Physical Requirements:
    • Work involves sitting most of the workday
    • Use of stairs and walking are required only occasionally
    • Typing and applying pressure with the fingers and palm required
    • Expressing or exchanging information by means of the spoken or written word
    • Substantial repetitive movements of the wrists, hands and/or fingers
    • Reading and writing in English
    • Clarity or vision at approximately 20 inches or less to perform an activity such as: analyzing data and figures; and extensive reading, primarily on a computer monitor
    • Occasional travel is required for offsite meetings, productions and events. Typically less than 10%
