    Hotel California by the Sea (HCBTS) is a dual-diagnosis drug and alcohol treatment center located in Newport Beach, CA with other facilities located in Bellevue, WA, and Cincinnati. OH.     HCBTS is looking for a dynamic and passionate individual to help lead our outstanding Team

    Job Duties & Responsibilities

    • Provide support and assistance to maintain client participation and engagement in treatment.
    • Meet with new client admissions on the day of arrival, but do not interrupt scheduled treatment services.
    • After daily programming, spend time at each location getting to know the clients.
    • Contact the client's parents/loved ones with an ROI within the first few hours of the client's admission to the HCBTS facility. Let them know that the client's case manager will be reaching out to them within 24 hours. Provide information to clients about the different levels of care and the transition process from one level of care to another.
    • Observe client's level of participation, and compliance with treatment program rules, and monitor for any potential client issues or concerns. Report observations and client issues or concerns to your Supervisor/Manager and the Clinical Team when directed per company policies / protocols. Available to assist and appropriately respond to client needs. Perform ACA blocking work tasks to prevent clients from leaving treatment against clinical advice (ACA). Perform Client Advocate / Liaison work, while also maintaining firm boundaries.
    • Provide support and assistance to the Admissions Team. Complete admission agreements with the Client, including client signatures and collecting payment(s). Assist with calls for potential admissions, including filling out pre-admission screening forms with information provided by the potential client admission.
      If requested, participate in HCBTS admissions team meetings, plans, projects, and conference calls.
    • Communicate and coordinate client admission matters with the HCBTS Admissions Team and other staff members as applicable and appropriate. Work closely with the Admissions Team, such as if an alumni relapses or if a current client has a friend/family member that they are wanting to get into treatment.
    • Facilitate 12 Step meeting involvement for clients and alumni. Help clients find a 12-step sponsor.
    • Perform alumni outreach activities and tasks. Facilitate alumni outreach meetings and events. Communicate with alumni who consent to post-treatment follow-up. Complete client outreach documentation. Inform and communicate with alumni about alumni activities, meetings, and events. Report any alumni's that may need further treatment to the Admissions Supervisor.
    • Maintain a strong understanding of the care, treatment, and services that HCBTS offers and provides to individuals with substance use disorders and/or co-occurring mental health disorders.
    • Comply with the policies and procedures set forth in the HCBTS Employee Handbook. Attend, participate, and complete all required training. Observe and comply with company policy, HIPAA, and other governing laws and regulations to ensure the confidentiality, privacy, and security of protected health information.
    • Perform specific tasks and duties assigned by your Supervisor/Manager.

    Skills, Knowledge, and Work Experience

    • 3+ Years Work Experience for a Behavioral Healthcare Company (Substance Use Disorders and/or co- occurring Mental Health Disorders).
    • 2+ Years Work Experience in a Client Advocate / Liaison type position.
    • 3+ Years Involvement in the Local Recovery Community.
    • 3+ Years of 12-Step Experience sufficient to facilitate 12-Step meeting / involvement / sponsorship.
    • Strong ability to work to prevent clients from leaving treatment against clinical advice (ACA).
    • Excellent verbal and interpersonal skills. Ability to effectively, professionally, and respectfully
    • communicate with clients, alumni, HCBTS staff members, professionals, and the local community.
    • Good time management skills. Completes assigned tasks in a timely and professional manner.
    • Demonstrated ability to interact effectively and respectfully with individuals of diverse backgrounds.
    • Strong ability to remain calm and professional in high-pressure or intense situations (e.g., ACA blocking,
    • speaking with persons who are upset, etc.).
    • Knowledge and experience in complying with HIPAA and other governing laws and regulations to ensure understanding of the laws, regulations, rules, and standards in the behavioral healthcare field.
    • the confidentiality, privacy, and security of protected health information. General knowledge and
    • Basic computer skills and proficient typing skills. Good writing skills. Attention to detail.
    • Excellent listening skills.

    • Current CPR and First Aid Certification / Training
    • Current PPD and Health Screening
    • Valid State Driver's License (subject to clearance by company's insurer)
