- Maintenance and Repair:
- Perform routine and preventative maintenance on a variety of janitorial equipment, including but not limited to floor scrubbers, buffers, vacuums, and extractors.

- Troubleshooting:
- Identify equipment malfunctions through diagnostic tests and observations, utilizing technical manuals and schematics as needed.
- Implement solutions to resolve equipment problems efficiently and effectively.
- Inventory Management:
- Maintain an organized inventory of tools, parts, and supplies required for equipment maintenance and repair.
- Order and replenish parts as necessary to ensure minimal downtime for equipment repairs.
- Documentation and Reporting:
- Keep accurate records of all maintenance and repair work performed, including parts used and time spent on each task.
- Report recurring issues and recommend long-term solutions to improve equipment reliability.
- Safety and Compliance:
- Adhere to all safety guidelines and protocols when performing maintenance and repair tasks.
- Ensure all equipment meets regulatory and safety standards.
- Training and Support:
- Provide training to janitorial staff on the proper use and basic maintenance of equipment.
- Offer technical support and guidance to team members as needed.
- Proven experience as a service mechanic, preferably with a focus on janitorial or similar equipment.
- Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills.
- Proficiency in reading technical manuals, schematics, and diagrams.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Basic computer skills for maintaining records and managing inventory.
- Certification in mechanical or electrical repair.
- Experience with a wide range of janitorial equipment brands and models.
- Knowledge of safety standards and regulatory requirements for equipment maintenance.
- This role may require lifting heavy equipment and working in various environmental conditions.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including occasional evenings or weekends, to perform urgent repairs.

Overview:
The Janitorial Equipment Service Mechanic is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing janitorial equipment to ensure it operates efficiently and effectively. This role requires a strong technical background and the ability to work independently to perform preventative maintenance and address any equipment issues promptly. The mechanic will also be responsible for managing inventory of parts and collaborating with the janitorial team to ensure all equipment is in optimal working condition.
