    joining our team to provide Wi-Fi networking, software, and hardware design, operation, and management in support of USPS initiatives and projects.

    HOW A SENIOR WI-FI ENGINEER WILL MAKE AN IMPACT:

    Serve as a Tier 3 escalation point for complex wireless network issues escalated from Tier 2 engineers
    Provide guidance and mentorship to Tier 2 Wireless Engineers
    Collaborate with other IT teams for integrated wireless solutions
    Design, implement, and manage wireless network infrastructure projects
    Perform wireless network performance monitoring, troubleshooting, and optimization
    Develop and maintain wireless network documentation and diagrams
    Mitigate vulnerabilities affecting hardware and software
    Perform Cisco Prime Infrastructure (CPI) support
    Provide and implement escalation processes and/or procedures as appropriate
    Submit LAN and switch acceptance as a backup to Tier 2, as necessary


    WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO SUCCEED:

    Education

    :

    Bachelor's degree in a Computer Science or related technical discipline

    (preferred but not required)
    Required Experience

    :

    5+ years of experience in wireless network engineering
    Required Technical
    Skills:

    Proficiency in wireless network monitoring tools (e.g., Cisco Prime, Ekahau)
    Proficient with programing in languages, such as Python, C, C++, etc.
    Strong familiarity with wireless testing tools such as spectrum analyzers, network analyzers, and protocol analyzers
    Required Skills & Abilities

    :

    Proficient experience in wireless network protocols, technologies, and architecture design
    Expert knowledge of wireless communication protocols, security standards, and methodologies
    Extensive knowledge of network infrastructure equipment, including routers, switches, and access points
    Demostrated ability to design and implement complex wireless networks involving multiple access points and devices
    Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills to troubleshoot and resolve network issues
    Strong communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills with a team mindset
    Demostrated ability to work independently and thrive in a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment
    Demostrated ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects simultaneously
    Continuous learning and strong current knowledge of latest trends, technologies, and industry developments in the wireless communication field
    Desired Skills & Abilities:

    Demostrated experience with IP Management Tools
    Demostrated abiltiy in creating and managing Change Requests using ServiceNow
    Demostrated knowledge of Cisco Switch configuration management
    Demostrated knowledge of site reviews for Cisco networks including circuit capacity, switch types, and IOS
    Demostrated knowledge of CPI and Network Automation (NA)
    Strong ability to read, write, and test code within a Cisco environment
    Demostrated experience with other wireless solutions such as Cisco Meraki, HPE Aruba, Juniper Mist, and Fortinet.
    Location

    :

    On site in Raleigh, NC with a hybrid work schedule (i.e., 2 days on site; 3 days remote)
    Ability to work occasional weekends and/or off-duty hours
    Limited travel may be necessary
    Security Clearance Level

    :

    Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance and successfully pass a thorough Government background screening process requiring the completion of detailed forms and fingerprinting
    The security clearance for this program requires the selected candidate to be a U.S. Citizen and to have resided in the US for the past five years.

    The selected candidate cannot have left the country for longer than 90 consecutive days and no more than 180 cumulative days.
