AECOM is actively growing the NYC/NJ Transportation Planning practice and is seeking a creative, highly talented Senior Environmental Planner for environmental review projects within the Transportation Business Line.
The successful candidate will oversee and prepare National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA), State Environmental Quality Review (SEQR), Executive Order No.
215 (EO215), City Environmental Quality Review (CEQR), CEDs environmental review documents for major infrastructure projects within NJ and NYC. The successful applicant will join a team of existing AECOM Planning specialists to assist in project delivery.
This is a hybrid office/remote role which will be based out of our NJ office, with opportunities to work in our NYC office.
Our Senior Environmental Planner is a newly created role to handle our growing business of NEPA, SEQR, CEQR and EO215 reviews for infrastructure projects in New York City, New Jersey and in the East Region.
In this role, you will support the New York Metro Planning Manager for Impacts, Assessments & Permitting (IAP) with our Planning Department in managing transportation projects and client relations.
In this role, you can expect to:
Manage and perform consulting projects to scope, schedule, and budget, learning and applying AECOMs project management systems and software. The candidate will accelerate through AECOMs in-house Project Management certification program within the first year of employment.
Serve as an interface with clients and regulatory personnel on complex projects and through business development initiatives.
Coordinate, manage, and direct project field and data collection efforts.
Prepare regulatory permit applications.
Prepare permitting for wetland delineations and Land Use.
Perform client visits and field activities that require work outside the office and evening meetings.
Develop, manage, and deliver business strategy and tactics, high-quality proposals, interdisciplinary teams, and documents and report deliverables.
Proactively enforce a culture of producing high-quality work and the importance of Health & Safety within the team.
Provide technical support to the IAP Department and individual Project Managers and support inter-disciplinary business development activities.
Collaborate with other AECOM offices, practices, and business lines.
Support design-bid-build and design-build projects.
Stay up-to-date on new technologies and industry trends.
