    Job Summary

    This position performs a variety of different MRI procedures to obtain diagnostic images. Follows established protocols as well as being able to make adjustments to set parameters on the operating console to compensate for different patient conditions all while keeping time in the gantry at a minimum while still producing high quality diagnostic images. Documents important patient history as related to the procedure. Prepares the exam room and tray set up for invasive procedures. Proficient at starting IV's to inject contrast media via an automatic injector and by IVP. Communicates well with other staff, creating an atmosphere of teamwork, as well as physician offices to ensure accuracy in order information contributing to the efficient operation of the department. Participates in accreditation and quality initiatives.

    Minimum Job Requirements
    • Satisfactory completion of a formal Radiologic Technology Program in a JCERT approved school which meets the requirements of the ARRT. Able to enter a magnetic field.
    • Must be MRI Registered or Registry eligible and complete registry within two years of employment.
    • CPR certification or must obtain at next available class upon hire.

    • Ability to be discreet and protect the integrity of any confidential matter or information encountered during the performance of job duties.
    Working Conditions
    • Typical hospital clinical environment with frequent standing and walking.
    • Work may be subject to interruptions.
    • Risk of occupational exposure to blood and other potentially infectious, electrical and radiation hazards.
    • Works with protected health information.
    • Ability to work any shift, occasional extended hours, holidays and/or weekends based on the needs of the department.
    Physical and Mental Activities, Tools and Equipment
    • Standing, walking, stooping, bending, lifting, pushing and pulling to provide patient care and to utilize patient care devices necessary to perform duties in a safe manner.
    • Uses computer and other standard office equipment.
    • Uses patient care tools and equipment as they relate to area of clinical specialty.
