POSITION TITLE: Performing Arts Instructor (Musical Theater)

DEPARTMENT: Ray and Joan Kroc Corps Community Center (Kroc Center Hawaii)

SUPERVISOR: Creative Arts & Education Manager

FLSA STATUS: Non-Exempt

CLASSIFICATION: Part Time, Hourly Pay Range $ - $

GENERAL STATEMENT: The Salvation Army is a branch of the Christian Church, aiming for spiritual, emotional, and physical regeneration of all.

MISSION STATEMENT: The Salvation Army, as part of the Christian Church, spreads its message through ministry motivated by the love of God.

KROC CENTER HAWAII VISION: A community center where families, individuals, and relationships flourish.

POSITION SUMMARY: Providing education in performing arts to students of all ages to support Kroc Center Hawaii's mission.

The selected candidate will uphold The Salvation Army's policies, maintaining ethical standards for Kroc Center Hawaii.

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

Excellent communication skills
Two years of dance and/or theater experience
Demonstrated classroom management skills
Minimum age of 18

Equivalent training and experience will be considered.

PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:

Bachelor's degree in Visual and Performing Arts or equivalent
Professional dance or theater experience

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

Provide instruction to students of all ages and abilities
Prepare lesson plans in advance
Encourage community development through arts education
Evaluate student progress and provide feedback
Manage classes efficiently
Enhance performing arts skills for recitals and events
Assist during events and performances
Maintain records and materials
Engage positively with students and parents
Ensure punctuality and professionalism
Adhere to policies and procedures
Attend staff meetings
Perform assigned duties

DESCRIPTION OF WORK ENVIRONMENT: Primarily indoors at Kroc Center Hawaii, with occasional outdoor work.

EQUIPMENT NEEDS: Office equipment and specific class-related tools.

LICENSES: No driver's license required.

CLEARANCES: Criminal history check may be required.
