    Job Summary


    The Employer Document Unit supports the Group market segment which consists of organizations that offer Blue Cross Blue Shield health insurance to their employees.

    This position within Contract Administration's Employer Document Unit is responsible for collaborating with internal stakeholders to draft and negotiate contract documents that govern the relationship between HCSC and its customers.

    This position is responsible for drafting of standard and customized account-specific documents for new and renewing accounts with redrafts of up to ten paragraphs.

    This position is responsible for drafting non-standard contract language and coordinating the production of documents working with account managers.

    This position is responsible for project planning for development of special group plans including negotiations with customers on the development of benefit plan provisions.

    This position is responsible for composing procedures and instructions for the Contract Administration reference library and act as back up to the Advance Contract Specialist.


    Required Job Qualifications:

    • Bachelor degree or 4 years work experience in a position involving independent judgment and initiative.
    • 1 year experience and skills in drafting standard or customized contracts or booklet documents with no guidance
    • PC experience including Microsoft Office.
    • Experience in deadline driven environment and completing tasks on time.
    • Judgment and problem resolution skills.
    • Verbal and written communication skills to interface with staff from other departments, draft document language and handle issue resolution

    Preferred Job Qualifications:

    • Experience developing corporate project plans. Skills in project management
    This is a Flex position (3 days in office; 2 days work from home) based in Chicago.
