    Job Description Procedure Scheduler As a Procedure Scheduler with OrthoArizona, you will get to:
  • Schedule all pain management procedures to be performed in the facility.
  • Follow scheduling form to obtain all necessary patient demographic, health, and insurance information from physician's office.
  • Consider priorities and patient/equipment special needs when scheduling preoperative appointments and pain management procedures.
  • Schedule appointments and procedures according to nursing and anesthesia staff availability, patient needs, and physician's block time.
  • Coordinate pain management procedure and preoperative appointment schedules with clinical director and preoperative nursing staff.
  • Regulate schedule according to procedure and physician's time and staffing requirements.
  • Coordinate schedule with time and equipment availability; identify conflicts and adjust schedule as needed.
  • Prepare preoperative-appointments schedule and pain management schedule for review by the clinical director so that adjustments may be made as necessary.
  • Accurately prepares final pain management schedule for timely distribution.
  • Follow procedure for notification of changes in the schedule (e.g., cancellation, rescheduling).
  • For new patients, assign medical record numbers and enter all demographic and insurance information into the computer.
  • For repeat patients, make any necessary changes in demographic or insurance information in computer.
  • Perform other miscellaneous office/clerical duties as needed.
  • Qualifications:
  • Working knowledge of computer programs.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Understand/Perform training on practice management software.
  • Continue to expand knowledge of practice management software as updates occur.
  • Minimum Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Training or courses in business office activities.
  • Good typing skills.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Good computer skills.
  • Strong ethical and moral character references.
  • Surgery or procedure scheduling experience.
