    Description
    Essential Functions of the Job:
    • Inspect products using gauges and basic hand tools (calipers, micrometers, comparator and other metrology instruments).
    • Test incoming raw materials.
    • Perform regular quality assessments on all incoming materials from vendors and outgoing products for shipping.
    • Rejects all products and materials that fail to meet quality expectations.
    • Read blueprints, plans, and specifications to understand the requirements of products and services.
    • Measure product dimensions, examine functionality, and compare the final product to the specifications.
    • Recommend improvements to the production process to ensure quality control.
    • Document inspection outcomes by completing detailed reports and performance records.
    • Identify quality issues.
    • Must be able to work in a machining environment.

    Education:
    • Highschool Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) preferred.

    Experience:
    • 1-3 years of industry-relevant inspection experience on machined/formed parts.

    Knowledge/ Skills/ Abilities:
    • Excellent knowledge of MS Office.
    • Good math and technical skills.
    • Strong understanding of quality control standards and testing techniques.
    • Practical experience in precision equipment and calibration.
    • Blueprint reading.
    • Knowledge in aerospace materials.

    Physical & Environmental Factors:
    • While performing the duties of this job, the employee, generally works indoors within the manufacturing area.
    • The employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes airborne particles, and toxic or caustic chemicals.
    • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate or loud.
    • The employee is regularly required to stand, sit, and talk or to hear.
    • The employee is frequently required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms.
    • The employee is occasionally required to stand and walk. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move 25 pounds.
    • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision.
