    JOB SUMMARY

    DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Processes payroll within established guidelines.
    • Test time and attendance system when required, to conform to any company policy changes on pay practices.
    • Extend special attention and sensitivity to all patients, vendors, visitors, physicians and fellow employees.
    • Assist in maintaining an atmosphere of cooperation with other departments and allied professionals.
    • Demonstrate respect and cooperation in all staff relationships and a genuine willingness to prevent and resolve interpersonal conflicts.
    • Demonstrate the ability to participate and/or implement team decisions.
    • Demonstrate a willingness to act as a representative of the hospital and abide by the Valley Presbyterian Hospital's Code of Conduct.
    • Actively participates in and encourages actions that promote good public relations with internal and external guests/customers within and across departmental and facility boundaries.
    • Accepts change as an opportunity for growth, learning and development; adapts to changing procedures and goals in a cooperative and positive manner.
    • Maintains confidentiality regarding patient / employee/ financial information.
    • Handles difficult situations in a discreet and professional manner.
    • Appearance is professional and in accordance with Valley Presbyterian Hospital's dress code.
    • Inputs adjustments and corrections to time and attendance system each pay period.
    • Assists with timely completion of interim and year-end audit tests and lose functions, and preparations for new calendar year.
    • Responsible for final timesheet distribution and maintenance.
    • Safeguards all financial assets and confidential data.
    • Assist in training new mangers and timekeepers on completing time cards and making corrections in time and attendance system.
    • Responsible for transmittal of positive pay and voids to the banks and processing replacement checks.
    • Is current on all position required licenses, certification and education (i.e., License, BCLS, ACLS, LA Fire Card, AB508, Annual Mandatory Education).
    • Maintains attendance in accordance with Valley Presbyterian Hospital's policy.
    • Meets job and unit specific competencies / skills required for the position. Keeps self informed of current information related to position.
    • Produces a significant volume of work efficiently and in a cost effective manner.
    • Accurately, thoroughly and neatly completes work in a timely manner. Complies with requirements of all regulatory agencies.
    • Demonstrates knowledge of and follows safety practices. Understands the importance of safety in the workplace. Maintains a safe work environment for self and others.
    • Competency Retention: Creates and implements a development plan for self. Completes required training. Retains and enhances competencies.

    EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING

    Experience:
    Medical or hospital experience preferred. A minimum of 3 years experience in Payroll required.

    Minimum Education:
    High School Degree/completion. Prefer College Degree/completion (2 or 4-year program).

    Licensure:
    LA City Fire Card required within 30 days of employment

    Software:
    Basic Microsoft computer skills preferred.

    MUST HAVES:

    • All required licensures, certifications, mandatory education; along with annual occupational health screenings must be completed prior to the expiration date or by the end of the month in which they are due

    MACHINES, EQUIPMENT AND WORK AIDS:

    • Office equipment, including calculators (10-key by touch), copiers, facsimile machines, telephones, computers, files/file cabinets, etc.

    Salary Range:
    $ $32.64 per hour
