    Job Description

    Directs the planning, coordination, and execution of all manufacturing and distribution policies and programs to maintain and improve the competitive position and profitability of Sika. Formulate and implement policies and programs for product quality, product availability, and new product manufacturing processes, on-time delivery, continuous improvement of manufacturing processes, and cost reduction. Be a proactive member of the executive team with shared responsibility for the results of the whole company as well as the Operations Division. Provides Regional support role for North American companies.

    Direct the activities of manufacturing facilities in multiple locations to insure they operate efficiently and safely to service our customers with quality products in a timely and cost effective manner.

    Assure continuity of multiple site manufacturing operations through continuous appraisal and assessment of production and packaging output in relation to customer needs, quality standards and cost requirements.

    In collaboration with the executive team, develop strategic plans for long term, sustainable, profitable growth; develop capital programs and make recommendations for new or expanded manufacturing and distribution facilities as required by the growth and needs of the business; develop programs to reduce costs.

    Lead plant management in developing annual budgets for operations and manage in accordance with company policies and procedures while demonstrating productivity improvements; develop three-year plan for operations.

    Define and implement manufacturing, distribution, and freight objectives; develop specific short term and long-range plans and programs together with supporting budget requests and financial estimates.

    Direct efforts relating to safety, environmental and government affairs to ensure compliance and implementation of necessary programs regarding the welfare of employees, customers and the communities in which we are located.

    Qualifications

    Bachelor's degree and 15-20 years of progressively responsible operations experience in the specialty chemicals or related area. Experience must have included a proven track record in manufacturing, distribution, and materials management in both union and non-union facilities, achievement of specific goals, and the development of cohesive, high performing teams. Experience must include 10-15 years in managerial positions.

    Must have proven record of creativity, innovation, team leadership, team participation and significant achievement.

    Must have excellent interpersonal, problem solving and negotiating skills, excellent verbal and written communication skills, and excellent analytical and quantitative skills.
