    Summary

    The Boys Girls Clubs of Central and Northern New Hampshire is a dynamic organization that currently supports 200 staff working in 30 Early Childhood and Out of School Time programs with a large geographic footprint.Our organization is growing rapidly and looking for new site directors to run our after-school programs. If you are interested in running an after-school site as a part of the Boys Girls Club team, we welcome you to apply. We have a part-time position available in Hill, NH.

    The right candidate will be a creative, energetic, and organized individual and will oversee programming and daily enrichment activities. The Site Director is responsible for overseeing the planning, development, implementation, and evaluation of specific programs for youth. Activities operated within the program shall support the Boys Girls Clubs of Central and Northern New Hampshire's priority outcome areas of Academic Success, Healthy Lifestyles, Good Character, and Citizenship. The position also provides leadership and supervision to assigned program staff and volunteers.

    Duties
    • Establish site programs, activities, and services that prepare youth for success and create an outcome-driven Club experience.
    • Promote and stimulate program participation; register new members and participate in their club orientation process - provide guidance and role modeling to members.
    • Ensure that all childcare licensing requirements per the NH Childcare Licensing Bureau are implemented.
    • Ensure a healthy, safe environment, with well-maintained facilities, equipment, and supplies.
    • Maintain close, daily contact with Club staff (professional and volunteer), Club members, and supervisors to receive/provide information discuss issues, explain or interpret guidelines/instructions; instruct, advise/counsel.
    • Maintain professional contact with community members, community leaders and organizations, Club parents, and others to assist in resolving situations and in order to develop and maintain partnerships.
    • Report on grants as needed.
    • Ensure administrative and operational systems are in place to maintain the operation of the physical properties and equipment of the Club.
    • Effectively manage a budget; control expenditures against the budget when required.
    • Compile regular reports reflecting all activities, attendance, and participation.
    Requirements

    A site director in a school-age program shall be at least 20 years of age and have a high school diploma or equivalent, including but not limited to a General Equivalency Diploma (GED), a High School Equivalency Test (HiSet), or a Test Assessing Secondary Completion (TASC), and have at least one of the following:
    (1) Written documentation from or on file with the department that she or he was qualified and employed as a site director in a school-age program on or before the effective date of these rules in 2022;
    (2) A minimum of an associate's degree in child development, education, recreation, or other field of study focused on children, awarded by an accredited college or university;
    (3) Certification of successful completion of training as a recreation director plus 1000 hours of experience working with children in a licensed child care program, recreation program, or a public or private elementary school;
    (4) A total of 12 credits in child development, education, recreation, or other field of study focused on children, from an accredited college plus 1000 hours of experience working with children;
    (5) Current certification as an educator by the Department of Education; or
    (6) Experience working with children totaling 2000 hours and:
    a. Current certification as a para II educator by the Department of Education; or
    b. Both of the following:
    1. Documentation of enrollment in a course for at least 3 credits in child development, education, recreation, or other fields of study focused on children, through an accredited college or university and a written plan on file for completion of at least 3 additional credits as specified; and

    2. Within 12 months of the date the individual begins working as a site director, documentation of successful completion of a total of at least 6 credits as specified in b.1. shall be on file for review by the department.

    ADDITIONAL EXPECTATIONS:


    •All of the candidates who are offered a job with the Boys Girls Clubs of Central and Northern New Hampshire will have to submit for an FBI fingerprint background check and submit to a background check through the State of NH Criminal Records Dept. and FirstAdvantage. Note: The State of NH Childcare Licensing Bureau may prohibit you from being employed by the Boys Girls Clubs of Central and Northern New Hampshire should there be a disqualifying finding on your criminal record. In addition, even if the State of NH reviews your records and allows you to work at the Club, we still reserve the right to determine your employment status.

    •This organization has a zero-tolerance policy for abuse and will not tolerate mistreatment or abuse in its programs. Any mistreatment or abuse by an employee will result in disciplinary action, up to and including termination of employment and cooperation with law enforcement.

    This is a part-time, non-exempt position. Hours are between 2 pm and 6 pm daily, 20 to 25 hours per week.
