    Description

    Reporting to the Chairperson of the Engineering Department, the Electronics Laboratory Technologist supports the multiple electrical and electronics-based laboratories in the Engineering Department.

    Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
    • Manages the functioning and utilization of electrical laboratory equipment including digital voltmeters, power supplies, oscilloscopes, function generators and electrical component measuring systems.
    • Performs circuit prototyping, soldering, and mechanical tasks.
    • Maintenance of security for all laboratory equipment, including electrical equipment on loan from departmental labs to students and faculty, and forecasting demand of equipment and supplies.
    • Sources all electrical components required by the various teaching laboratories.
    • Manages standard laboratory safety and security standards with dealing with electronic and electrical equipment/circuits.
    • Performs other related duties as assigned.
    Qualifications
    • Bachelor's degree required; technology specialization preferred.
    • At least 5 years of related work experience or equivalent training and experience with electronic instrumentation and basic electronic circuits.
    Preferred Qualifications
    • Prior experience with both analog and digital circuits of the type utilized in undergraduate laboratories and classes preferred.

    Salary/Salary Range
    $ $28.00 per hour

    Hofstra University provides the above salary* as a good faith estimate of the starting pay range which considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience and education.
