Working Conditions
Comply with the terms stated in the Battalion Chief Stress Duty Statement. The incumbent must wear respiratory protection equipment, including SCBA. Note that the individual needs annual medical clearance and fit-testing as per Cal/OSHA regulations. There is a possibility of working nights, weekends, or holidays during emergency incidents. A two-year commitment may be required, and the Battalion Chief should be within a 30-minute radius during standby/on-call hours.

Felony Disclosure
According to California Penal Code 4571, individuals seeking employment and may work with inmates at a conservation camp must disclose any prior felony status upfront. CAL FIRE/CDCR requires informed consent before allowing a former felon on the Conservation Camp/Prison grounds. Non-compliance can lead to serious repercussions.
PREA Information
Positions based at a Camp or involving inmate supervision must adhere to the Prison Rape Elimination Act. Compliance involves undergoing Live Scan procedures before appointment and periodically during employment to ensure adherence to the Code of Federal Regulations Part 115 Prison Rape Elimination Act National Standards.
