    The Assistant Director of Financial Aid will contribute to the Office of Financial Aid by being part of a team that provides frontline customer support and service regarding financial aid. The assistant director will also review aid files, process aid awards, and support the operation of the Financial Aid Office and the One Stop Office.

    You are:
    • Committed to enhancing the internal and external customer experience
    • Able to manage complex matters appropriately while meeting the needs of the customer and the University
    • Proficient with the Microsoft suite of products including, but not limited to, Word, Excel, Outlook and Teams is required
    • Able to work independently, utilize discretion and judgment daily, and take individual initiative as well as the ability to work as a collaborative team member
    You will:
    • Perform needs analysis, packaging and verification of student financial aid awards and files
    • Process financial aid for all students studying away from UNH including study abroad, co-op programs, etc.
    • Counsel students and families regarding aid applications, eligibility, and programs
    • Assist with student and parent loan processing; Generate financial aid reports as needed
    • Present financial aid information and workshops both on and off campus to a variety of audiences
    • Remain informed and updated on state and federal financial aid regulations
    • Assist the Office of Financial Aid by providing exceptional service to students and other customers, both internal and external, in person, online, and via phone and email
    • Propose innovative solutions to issues identified during customer contact
    • Promote teamwork, collaboration, and resource sharing across the Office of Financial Aid and other Enrollment Services areas
    • Perform other duties as assigned
    You need:
    • Bachelor's degree preferred and two to four years of experience in a Financial Aid Office preferred - equivalent experience may be considered in lieu of a degree
    • Administrative experience in higher education desired
    • Knowledge of Title IV financial aid regulations
    • Understanding and comprehension of federal tax returns
    • Experience with Banner preferred
    • Experience with PowerFAIDS strongly preferred
    • Experience working with challenging customers
    • Professional presentation and demeanor
    • Some seasonal evening and weekend work is required
    • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal skills
    • Excellent organizational skills and great attention to detail with the ability to prioritize and advance multiple tasks simultaneously
