- Build, manage, grow, and innovate annual giving programs to include acquisition, in-kind giving, recurring giving, matching gifts, crowdfunding, and multilevel giving club.
- Leverage technology, brand marketing practices and audience specific messages (awareness of interests, generational influence, and/or affinity) to build a consistent, effective, and innovative appeal and communications calendar, using strategic prospect and donor segmentation.
- Partner with fellow philanthropy officers on appeals in support of specific programs and initiatives, including but not limited to, events; major, principal and planned giving; as well as corporate and community partnerships.
- Using moves management, advance a portfolio of 125 prospects and donors with an annual giving capacity of $5,000 or more.
- Actively seek knowledge of institutional priorities, programs, initiatives, and messaging, to inform discussions with prospects and donors as well as appeals.
- Establish and deepen collaboration with partners across Father Joe's Villages to design, implement and innovate annual giving programs and initiatives as a way to build upon and reinforce organizational messaging and communications.
- Maintain knowledge of current best practices in annual giving and pipeline development, and train, coach, and mentor direct reports and other stakeholders.
- Lead donor research efforts and advise on portfolio development.
- Advise and manage reporting on moves management and ROI.
- Recommend strategic direction on moves management to maximize donor engagement and giving.
- Lead and coordinate pipeline development training.
- Manage development and distribution of Impact Reports.
- Identify opportunities within donor base for strategic segmentation to deepen affinity and increase giving.
- Carry a portfolio (size TDB) of donors capable of making a major gift, defined at $25,000 or more.
- Complete all organizational trainings on time.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
- Bachelor's degree in Business, English, Communications or related field.
- Minimum five years of nonprofit experience in fundraising.
- Minimum of three years of annual giving experience.

Summary
The director of philanthropy, pipeline development (DOP, PD) plays a key strategic role in elevating the office of philanthropy into a disciplined, data driven operation, advising on every phase of the donor cycle, broadly and on the individual donor level, to include identification, discovery, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship. DOP, PD leads the annual giving program, setting overarching strategy and a robust calendar of appeals and communications in collaboration with office of philanthropy leadership and the office of communications. He/she/they design and regularly run reports for comprehensive tracking of dollars, donors, retention, upgrades, demographics, and appeal results vis a vis messaging, segmentation, timing, and audience to inform subsequent data driven strategies for donor segmentation and testing. DOP, PD correlates findings into presentations for stakeholders to include office of philanthropy, president and CEO, and board of trustees. Incumbent advises, coaches, and mentors frontline fundraisers and administrative staff on pipeline development best practices. DOP, PD provides strategic oversight of the newly established multilevel giving club, Neighbor's Giving Society, and moves a portfolio of a mutually agreed upon number of donors capable of making a major gift, defined as $25,000 or more. Current direct reports include one philanthropy officer, annual giving and two philanthropy officers, mid-level giving.
