Starting Rate of pay: $19.00/hour

Shifts Available and Hours:

Nightshift

Sunday-Thursday

10:30pm to 7:00am

Shift Premium: Nightshift - $1.50/hour extra

Job Summary:

The Extrusion Saw Operator is responsible for trimming long length extrusions to the required finish length, the role entails supervising General Laborers who assist at the saw station to ensure proper stacking and identification of materials for subsequent operations. This supervision involves overseeing the stacking process to maintain efficiency and accuracy, as well as ensuring that materials are correctly labeled and prepared for further processing.

Required Education/Experience:

Proficiency in comprehending and executing fundamental instructions in English.

Possession of basic mathematical competencies, including the ability to operate a calculator and interpret measurements using a tape measure.

Job Responsibilities:

Proficient in identifying mechanical, electrical, or hydraulic issues with the finish saw and promptly communicates them to frontline leadership or appropriate maintenance personnel.

Ensures the accuracy of product cut length as specified for the process, conducting checks at appropriate intervals.

Validates cut tolerance for each customer/order to ensure adherence to specified cut lengths.

Maintains appropriate levels of saw blade coolant, oil, and other fluids necessary for effective product cutting.

Handles materials with care to prevent scratches, dents, and other damage during handling and transition.

Ensures that materials have sufficient spacer bars and are consistently aligned to prevent denting.

Provides guidance to fork-lift drivers regarding any special or different handling practices required.

Ensures efficient product changeovers and maximizes uptime through preparation and clear communication with the saw crew.

Instructs and guides saw assistants with procedural information and quality alerts.

Capable of checking critical dimensions such as gaps, angles, and flatness.

Develops and trains saw assistants on saw equipment, operations, processes, and systems, enabling them to operate independently as needed.
