- Developing and implementing policies and procedures governing Nursing Services. Participating in planning, decision-making, and policy formulation in SNF meetings.
- Supporting Assisted Living, Memory Care programs, and other CCRC departments.
- Defining job specifications and descriptions for Nursing Services personnel.
- Creating, controlling, and executing the annual nursing personnel budget.
- Representing Nursing Services on various committees and engaging in performance improvement activities.
- Collaborating with other departments for an interdisciplinary resident care approach. Addressing psychosocial needs of residents and families.
- Evaluating nursing staff's ability to assess and care for residents.
- Directing staff to educational programs and ensuring quality resident care.
- Overseeing resident assessments, Minimum Data Sets, and Care Plans.
- Conducting staff interviews, hiring, and staff meetings. Enforcing dress code standards.
- Completing annual educational requirements and maintaining patient record confidentiality.

This leadership position at Mercy Retirement and Care Center involves overseeing resident care in the skilled nursing environment.
The responsibilities include managing the nursing team, collaborating with staff and management to address nursing issues, maintaining departmental performance improvement activities, and assisting in budget planning.
Current Registered Nurse license in California. Three or more years of geriatric care nursing experience. Certification in gerontological nursing preferable. Current BCLS certification. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Basic to advanced computer literacy.
Understanding and sensitivity in working with the elderly and the aging process. Proficiency in program development and management. Collaborative mindset and dedication to excellence in CCRC operations. Supportive of staff's professional growth. Ability to lead in the Health Care Administrator's absence.
