Supervisor HIM Coding Inpatient

Location: US: WI: MENOMONEE FALLS at our WOODLAND PRIME 400 facility.

Work Type: Full-time.

Shift: 1st

Job Summary:

Under the direction of the HIM Coding Manager, this position is responsible for organizing, planning, and scheduling the daily workflow for inpatient coding. Primary supervisory responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, discipline, and daily supervision of employees in the inpatient coding section. Training responsibilities include developing and presenting training programs, process improvements, and regulatory compliance to coding employees. The supervisor of inpatient coding requires a high level of organizational skill, coordination, and implementation of coding processes throughout the coding section. This position requires a high degree of independent quick and complex decision making. Excellent written and oral communication skills are required. Maintains a good working relationship with medical staff and other hospital departments. The position requires in-depth knowledge of coding systems and software both in ICD-9 and ICD-10 CM/PCS.

EXPERIENCE DESCRIPTION:

Two years of HIM experience is required. Two years of supervisory experience is required. Experience in an academic medical center is preferred.

EDUCATION DESCRIPTION:

Associate degree in HIM or equivalent is required. Bachelor's Degree in HIM or equivalent is preferred.

TRAINING DESCRIPTION:

ICD-10 CM/PCS training is required.

LICENSURE DESCRIPTION:

Certified RHIA or RHIT is required. Certified Coding Specialist preferred.
