    Job Description

    Job Purpose

    Create/revise electrical drawing packages, and bill of materials for key projects, perform and assist in design reviews, production releases and support to ensure compliance per customer and industry specifications.

    Duties and Responsibilities

    Develop electrical drawings per industry standards and specifications for key assigned projects, including revision, resubmittal and release of approved drawings and bill of materials to production.

    Attend project kick-off meetings, assist in setting project schedule dates.

    Assist in project assignments and design support for engineering personnel and designers including reviews, comments and approval of customer submittal packages to ensure projects meet estimation package, customer specifications and bid drawings.

    Lead electrical engineering production support efforts during wiring/assembly processes and work with QC on engineering changes and non-conformances to document and implement corrective actions.

    Demonstrate leadership and commitment with respect to the Company Quality Management System by:
    Participating in the evaluation of the effectiveness of engineering processes and procedures in the quality management system.

    Providing feedback and recommendations on changes to engineering related quality policy and quality objectives to ensure compatibility the strategic direction of the organization.

    Engage and supporting persons to contribute to the effectiveness of the quality management system.
    Demonstrate leadership and commitment with respect to customer focus by ensuring that:
    Customer and applicable statutory and regulatory requirements are determined, understood and consistently met on assigned and reviewed projects.

    Qualifications
    Education
    4 year Bachelor's in Engineering and 6 to 10 years of relevant experience.
    MV Switchgear (5kV to 38kV) design, Metalclad and Arc Resistant.

    (240V to 600V) design
    Power distribution center (E-House) design
    Electrical closure design
    Relay racks/cabinet design
    Solar inverter skid design
    Load interrupting switchgear
    Unit substations
    Specialized knowledge
    National Electrical Code (NEC), Utility Electric Service Requirements (ESR), ANSI C37, UL, CA Title 24, State Seal process.
    Skills
    Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Office and AutoCAD skills.
    Analyzing and organizing technical data.
    Strong mathematical skills.
    Strong computer skills.
    Understanding of process and resource constraints and their impacts thereof.
    Knowledge of best drafting practices and intelligent electrical design suites
    Process mapping, root cause analysis and development of policies and procedures.
    Abilities
    Logic and reasoning to identify alternative solution, conclusions, approaches to problems.
    Accurately maintain records, files and reports.
    Plan, assign and/or supervise work of others when required.
    Review teamwork output for accuracy where required.

    Strong Written and spoken English
    Professional Certification(s)
    California Professional Engineering Certification a plus, but not required.
    Working Conditions
    Temperature-controlled office with moderate noise level. Occasional exposure to manufacturing area with dust, noise, moving machinery, and humidity. Personal protective equipment as required.
    Physical Requirements
    Office position. Spends the majority of the work shift sitting. Generally, requires clear vision at 20 inches or less for reading. May include lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling up to 25 lbs. with no assistance.
