A well-established management company for skilled nursing facilities seeks a full-time in-house Associate General Counsel.

We are looking for an excellent lawyer with a professional demeanor and executive presence who has the demonstrated ability to work efficiently and collaboratively and prioritizes workflow.

The ideal candidate is passionate about the organization, its mission, and the people it serves. They will assist in offering counsel on legal matters.


RESPONSIBILITIES:

Engages and represents the company in handling in-house litigation (General liability, Employment law, Business Litigation, Health care - Elder law) and manages assigned outside counsel to include case strategy, discovery, motion practice, mediation, arbitration, and trial.

Counsels client facilities with employment issues (labor law) and contract matters (including negotiating, drafting, and revising business and vendor agreements)
Staying up to date on industry-specific regulations and compliance matters.
Responds to Subpoenas and other legal requests
Represents client facilities in administrative hearings, court proceedings, depositions, and as requested.


QUALIFICATIONS:
Required to be active and in good standing with the CA State Bar (Licensed Attorney)
3+ years of experience handling litigation from inception to resolution
Experience in employment law, contract law, and/or health care law is recommended.
Ability to represent the company and interact with others ethically and professionally while maintaining accountability.
