    Position: Gymnasium Monitor

    Responsibilities:

    • Provide excellent customer service and model relationship-building skills in all interactions.
    • Enforce gymnasium rules including, but not limited to, promoting good sportsmanship, monitoring attire and language, monitoring that all participants are at least 12 years and up if not supervised by an adult 18 years or older, and clearly communicating that dunking, hanging on rims and grabbing nets is not allowed.
    • Ensure equal game time on the court for all participants. Facilitate rotation of players into games.
    • Raise and lower basketball hoops as requested.
    • Complete accident/incident forms as needed. Complete behavioral warnings as needed. Notify the Welcome Center of any emergency, accident, injury, or incident. Provide basic first aid as needed.
    • Inspect Family Locker Room and gender-appropriate locker room a minimum of twice per hour to ensure a safe environment.
    • Assist Club House staff to ensure program participants can access the gymnasium for play.
    • Ensure that program standards are met, and safety procedures are followed.
    • Ensure proper care, use and storage of equipment.
    • Facilitate communication, provide leadership, exercise sound judgment, and provide high level conflict resolution skills.
    • Analyze situations quickly and take decisive action to ensure the safety and enjoyment of members, participants, and guests.


    Qualifications:

Additional years of professional experience or a Rank of E-5 or better may be used in lieu of education requirements where permitted.

    • One to two years related experience working with teens, young and older adults.
    • Outgoing personality with a confident demeanor.
    • Must be available weekday evenings.
    • Must be 20 years or older.
    • Maintain current CPR and First Aid certification.
