    **Description**

    The Buyer/Planner will report directly to the Materials Manager. Their primary functions will be to:

    Provide accurate promise dates to customers based on current shop load and material requirements.

    Plan jobs for release to production. This includes but is not limited to:

    + Reviewing ERP system messages

    + Ensuring material requirements have been satisfied and material is on-time

    + Reviewing capacity constraints with Team Leads and Supervisors

    + Releasing the required paperwork to the shop floor

    + Other tasks as required

    Provides updated production schedules to customer service to ensure customer satisfaction is being met.

    Identify material shortages and work with production to prevent those shortages from affecting customer delivery expectations.
