- Assign work schedules, protect, instruct, train, counsel and provide feedback for evaluation of assigned employees.
- Responsible for the care, custody, and adherence to rules and regulations of detainees assigned to specific work area.
- Supervise and direct searches for contraband and provide security. Required to perform "pat" and "strip searches" by squatting and bending to perform such functions as needed. Required to climb ladders or stairs in search of contraband.
- Supervise and provide custody and security of detainees including observation of detainees and detainees assigned to work duty which includes long periods of sitting and standing.
- Required to make rounds of the facility which requires long periods of walking.
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Two (2) years' experience in an adult correctional environment or related field required.
- Must successfully complete required pre-service training.
- Valid driver's license in the state of Texas with an acceptable driving record required, unless waived by management.
