    Position Overview
    The Assistant Director, Advancement Digital Strategy & Direct Marketing serves as an integral partner in developing and executing the outreach strategy to acquire, renew and retain donors through digital channels, direct mail and in-person giving opportunities. S/he is responsible for several key processes, including, the coordination of digital giving opportunities, social media engagement, vendor relationship management, and project management for the Annual Giving Team around key initiatives like Give Marquette Day. (S)he will also help test new functionality and research emerging concepts for fundraising, especially across digital channels. This position has the opportunity to work in a hybrid work arrangement, with time worked both on campus as well as remotely.
    Duties and Responsibilities
    1. Coordinates and implements direct marketing efforts to solicit alumni, parents, students, and friends, ensuring materials are produced and completed for timely delivery to constituents.
    2. Builds marketing email templates in university CMS and draft compelling copy from a promotional lens that leverage appropriate content and tone. Maintains online giving pages and ensures all digital channels (web, email, social) offer a great user experience and embody Marquette's mission.
    3. Creates and schedules original content for @MarquetteAlumni accounts. Communicates with alumni and donors by responding to comments, questions, and inquiries via social media.
    4. Maintains the email solicitation calendar for the Annual Giving team and manages the social media calendar for the Marquette Alumni Association, ensuring digital marketing projects and social posts stay on schedule and status updates are visible for all team members.
    5. Instrumental partner in creation and execution of programming, communication, outreach and content creation for Give Marquette Day, the university's annual day of giving.
    6. Assists with in-person giving opportunities, such as on-campus initiatives and athletic events at Fiserv Forum. Creates digital signage for TV screens and print signage for tabling using basic graphic design skills and tools like Canva.
    7. Helps test new initiatives and continually monitors trends in annual giving, digital fundraising, social media and mobile.
    8. Leads new social media ambassador program, including both alumni and student volunteers.
    9. Understands best practices across multiple platforms and develops best practices for emerging media types as well as internal processes.
    10. Performs other duties and responsibilities as required, assigned, or requested.
    Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
    Bachelor's degree is required.

    A minimum of three of experience in higher education development, direct marketing, project management or related experience.

    Strong writing skills with a knack for succinct and inspiring storytelling

    Previous experience in a non-profit environment and/or with digital marketing

    Excellent organizational skills and strong attention to detail

    Experience using Sprout Social

    Ability to create promotional materials in Canva, Photoshop or InDesign

    Familiarity with Blackbaud or GiveCampus software
