    Description

    MAIN JOB RESPONSIBILITIES / COMPETENCIES
    1. Support R&D engineers with temperature-controlled metrology equipment setup and process development
    2. Perform highly technical tasks in support of R&D, potentially including equipment set-up and manufacturing of product, tool changes, sterilization processes, and filtration of material and calibration activities as assigned.
    3. Troubleshoot issues on equipment and assist with preventative maintenance.
    4. Support qualification activities (as required).
    5. Other duties as assigned.

    REQUIREMENTS

    EDUCATION & TRAINING

    • Must possess a high school diploma or general education diploma (GED).

    • Preferred engineering student in appropriate discipline (mechanical, aerospace, biomedical, etc)

    EXPERIENCE

    • Previous experience in using a microscope and other metrology instrumentation is required.

    • Previous experience in a laboratory environment.

    • Completed at least Sophomore year of college

    SKILLS

    • Ability to operate equipment, such as the Precitech Sterling Optoform 40 optical lathe and Kern Micro MMP series mill, to manufacture ophthalmic lenses (will be taught on-job if necessary)

    • Ability to operate analysis equipment, such as interferometers or profilometers, to measure prototype or final product ophthalmic lenses (will be taught on-job if necessary).

    • Must be able to read, write, and speak English.

    • Needs to be able to communicate with co-workers at all levels.

    • Must possess good manual dexterity, technical aptitude and an ability to troubleshoot problems.

    • Ability to take direction from lead/supervisor and other management and contribute to departmental goals.

    • Basic computer skills required.

    • Good verbal and written communication skills.

    • Good analytical and problem-solving skills.

    Pay range is: $22-$32 per hour - Final compensation/salary will depend on experience.
